Fuyu - Japanese Whisky

For those not keeping track, that's the main island of Japan, housing the lion's share of Japanese whisky distilleries. The label features some sort of giant snake/dragon with many people hands confronting a rightfully-confused chap with a sweet mask.

• Nose: Greengages, sandalwood, a touch of earthy peat followed by slowly developing hints of buttered rye.
• Palate: Rounded orchard fruit sweetness comes up against savoury grains and subtle nutmeg warmth.
• Finish: Dusty oak and earthy vanilla pod.
