Slightly hazy copper. Two fingers khaki white head. Moderate carbonation. Lots of sticky lacing. Moderate retention.
Good amount of roasty malt profile. Roasted, milled grain, straw. Underlying notes of grapefruit, bit of evergreen and a barely perceptable splash of tropical fruit. Fairly aggressive, pine like bitterness that dominates the palate. Again, a lot of milled grain with a bit of straw and some grassy notes. Mild notes of citrus rind and a tiny bit of fruitiness. Herbal notes detected in the finish, with some bitter mint in there as well. Aftertaste is very dry. Kinda reminiscent of Torpedo. Pleasingly full bodied for the style. Not heavy, but definitely heavier than most single IPAs Ive come across. Pleasant. Well crafted. Delicious. The lack of overbearing citrus is a welcome surprise. Very smooth across the palate, especially considering the 82 IBUs.
