Mantra Artisan Ales- Japa

Ginger and cinnamon are the most discernible of the typical Chai spice ingredients, and both work well with the sweet chocolate and roasted coffee notes of the underlying milk stout.

The spice is well incorporated and not overdone, and there’s a hint of maple syrup running through the beer. Though Japa is a year-round offering for Mantra, it called to mind Christmas for more than one panelist.
