Pours with a thick, lightbrown head with good retention, leaving considerable lace. Very dark brown to black and completely opaque.Charred wood, bakers chocolate, roasted coffee beans, caramel, and dark fruits.Flavor begins with a smack of roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. A subdued caramelly, milkchocolate sweetness lingers behind all the roast and increases at it warms. Very long, bitter finish consisting mainly of bitterness from the roasted malts and hops. Very slight alcohol warming.A very complex stout for its relatively low ABV, with heavy emphasis on the roasted/charred flavors. I only wish it was balanced with a bit more lighter malt character and sweetness. The body seemed a bit thin, although the high carbonation is partially to blame.
