2nd beer of the 2013 Craft Beer Advent Calendar is another porter, but a more regular porter. It has a nice dark colour and pours with a normal head of reasonably thick foam. The smell and taste was chocolatey with some of the hops coming through in the smell. The dark malt taste was not overpowering and I really appreciated the taste of this beer. You could feel the beer over the entire palate and there were hints of smoke although I only started to detect this after reading the bottle where it hinted that the beer was trying for this, so it could have been a placebo effect.
