Golden with light orange hues, the colors of fall show up in lager form. Brightly clear and exuberant its carbonation quickly builds a loose structure of foam that lasts over half the session. Light on lace, the glass becomes dotted with receding foam.Grainysweet aromas are modestly of Grapenuts cereal and light caramel kick things off. But trailing citrus hop character shares an uncommon scent, but it does show its Americanized influences. Its partmalt, partgrain flavor also provides a mild caramel and husky taste. Lightly of bread crust, the lager favors a rougher grain taste than the more elegant breadiness of Bavarian versions. Its balance is less herbal and more citrusy as a sharper tone emerges from its hop profile. Finishing minerally, lightly sulfury and with a grassy, stemmy hop bite its taste is simply not as refined as classic Oktoberfest beers.Grainy also in texture, the malt creaminess is light and its scrubbing grain and sulfur compounds keep the beer a little rough on the throat. Its hop bitterness turns mildly astringent as the beer closes with more bite than smoothness.
