Product Details

Pours a deep brown with two fingers of nice khaki colored head that fades quickly, solid retention of chunky lacing. Also solid with chocolate and smoke up front followed by ground coffee beans and more roastiness. Solid for a porter for sure.Nice and sweet, some bitter chocolate and a nice roastiness to it. A bit of coffee flavor but not a ton, very smooth.Medium bodied with low carbonation, could perhaps benefit with a bit more body but this is smooth and creamy. This is a very good, almost great porter from Red Brick.

Porter

RED BRICK PORTER, a long time customer favorite with a loyal following, fits its namesake perfectly. Rich roasted aromas waft from the khaki colored head of this complex ale, dominated by dark chocolate with a hint of coffee. The color is a deep, dark brown, with ruby and garnet hues peeking through when held up to light. Our porter’s silky smooth mouth-feel compliments a malt character that is sweet but not cloying, followed by notes of French roast coffee and lingering bitter cacao to finish. It is best enjoyed around a roaring fire.

The Beer

•Style: Robust Porter •First Release Date: October 2008 •Hop Variety: Apollo, Willamette •Stats: ALC/VOL 7.7%, 37IBUs, SRM 27 •Serving Conditions: Best enjoyed at 45– 50 °F in a pint glass served on draft in the tasting room at Red Brick Brewing Co. •Availability: 12oz Bottles & Draft •Food Pairing Suggestions: We suggest accompanying Red Brick Porter with roasted or smoked foods such as BBQ, sausages, roasted meats and blackened fish.
