Product Details

Pours out a weathered brass colour. an inch high head appears and sticks with pleasure. sticky lace adorns the glass as i drink. earthy, herbal, grassy and resinous hop aroma fills the nose. its a bit pungent. the taste of this 2IPA is very unique...a base maltiness is quickly overcome by a large hop profile of very earthy, herbal and vegetal flavours. an onion, garlic, and radish flavour dominates...a definite spicy alcohol note intermingles with the spicy hops, making for a beer that seems almost chewy. not sure of the IBU on this but it never comes across as a bitter bruiser, and it has a somewhat clean finish. above medium body with the aforementioned chewy, but velvety smooth mouthfeel. drinkability is nice...especially if you like your hops spicy as hell.

overall...well the hopping of this 2IPA is certainly unlike any other, and stands alone in its uniqueness. my guess is that this wont sit well with the citrus and pine hop bomb crowd. as for me, i found it interesting and without equal. glad i got to try a sixer but im pretty sure i wont revisit this again in the future.

STORY

A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma.

The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant’s finish is bone-dry.
