Product Details

Clear as a bell amber, lively carbonation, 1 finger of ecru head, plenty of sticky lacing.Aroma is surprisingly muted and a subtle mix of hops, toasted coconut & shortbread.Taste is hop forward with grapefruit & tangerine, and just enough of a hint of the toasted coconut to let you know it is there, shortbread cookies rounding out the flavors.Starts out a tad sweet, but the aftertaste is bitter and drying, and to me when the toasted coconut seems the most prominent (about 1 minute after the swallow).Mouthfeel is light medium and really pleasant, perfectly carbonated.Rock solid off center IPA that deserves higher ratings it seems many are expecting a more intense coconut infusion, but I found it a subtle and interesting change of pace.

Robert Masterson & Ryan Reschan / Rip Current / Stone

R&R Coconut

Originally dreamt up by homebrewers Robert Masterson and Ryan Reschan, who earned themselves the top prize in our 2013 American Homebrewers Association homebrewing contest, this innovative beer marks a refreshing sea change for IPA lovers everywhere. It was brewed with 280 pounds of coconut and an unusual blend of hop varieties, including a few from faraway lands or just brand spankin' new, and is guaranteed to taste like no IPA that's gone before. Prepare yourself for a tropical breeze of a brew that will lull you to a place of tranquil contentment for a little R & R.
