ROUNDABOUT EXTRA SPECIAL BITTER
5.0% ABV, 44.5 IBU, 9.8 SRM – ESB stands for Extra Special Bitter.
This is a classic English style of Ale whose name really confuses some people. You see, ‘bitters’ are not really bitter. It’s just what the Brit’s call a Pale Ale.
There is a scale of ‘bitter’ styles; mild, bitter, ESB. The English and American IPAs are sometimes considered the fourth and fifth items on the ‘bitter’ scale.
Our ESB is a coppery color with a good balance of malt and hops, but not nearly as bitter as it’s IPA cousins.
