Product Details
As expected, the pour to this was dark, with not a lot of head or lacing to be seen. The aroma was that of oatmeal, cereal, and some burnt maltiness, which was all repeated in the taste. This had a slightly thin and not terribly carbonated taste to it, while feeling roasted and somewhat burnt. There was a hint of caramel stickiness to it as well, without the actual taste of caramel being present. It almost felt like a Root Beer or Birth Beer soda that had been left out a bit too long, and slightly fermented. The alcohol was good in this and had I bought more, I could have downed a few more in one sitting. Even though its muggy as anything outside, I enjoyed this beer and thought that it fit the description of what a good Schwarzbier should be. Not as roasted as a Porter, full as a Stout, or roasted and sticky as a Scotch Ale,

Full Sail Session Black
Short, Dark, and Drinkable and seven time Gold Medal Winner including the 2009 GABF! The second addition to family, Session Black, carries the mantra of drinkability into new territory. Most beers this dark are so heavyduty, you could eat them with a fork. Session Black, on the other hand, lets you have your dark beer and drink it, too. With just a hint of roasty chocolate character, Session Black is short, dark, and totally drinkable. At long last, a dark beer that doesnt drink like a meal. ABV 5.4% IBU 18
Session Black Premium Dark Lager is available in 6packs, 12packs and on draft
AWARDSWere so stoked, nine gold medals and a silver medal from the 2011 GABF and thats not all
