What does the name mean?
Named for the White Footed Vole, one of North America’s most elusive creatures. An interesting inhabitant of the great Redwood Forest of Humboldt County, little is known about these small, mysterious mammals. Are they truly a rare species or simply hard to catch, using the ancient landscape to their advantage? That’s a secret the redwoods are still keeping to themselves.
